Michael Bondanza, a gifted American jewelry designer,
descends from a long line of sculptors. His family traces its roots to Pietrosanto, Italy,
a town built around the marble quarries created by Michelangelo. Raised from birth in the
United States, Michael taught himself the techniques of jewelry making and began designing
jewelry for his friends. As demand for his designs grew, Bondanza decided to market them
commercially. His first designs in sterling silver and 18k yellow gold and rosewood were
snapped up by Cartier. He then went on to develop a complete range of jewelry. The most
distinguished retailers in the industry responded to his artistry and still carry his
collections. When Bondanza began working in Platinum, his bold and imaginative concepts
created a sensation. He holds the registered trademark for is "Platinum
Redefined" concept. He has since gone on to win international awards for his creative
use of platinum, "the noblest metal known to man." he is also the recipient of
the prestigious 1992 Platinum Guild International Christopher Columbus Award. After a long
hiatus from is earliest interests, Bondanza has now begun to re-devote time to painting,
sculpturing and woodworking, expressing his many-faceted talents as he continues his
prolific flow of jewelry designs.
"Platinum has a sense of history and glamour that was impossible for me to overlook. The white color of platinum provides an excellent opportunity to mix colors within the design scheme of a fine jewelry piece. I truly love the "feel" and the patina of platinum. I combine colors, shapes and textures in a way that would be impossible without platinum."
